Abstract

In order to study of silicon and nitrogen effects on blast, sheath blight, stem borer and yield of Tarom Hashemi rice variety, a pot experiment was carried out in deputy of rice research institute of Iran (Amol) as factorial complete  randomized design in 2009 and 2010. Three levels of N fertilizer (69, 92, 115 Kg N/ha) with three levels of silicon fertilizer (0, 250, 500 Kg/ha) were as a factorial. Poison spray was not done against pest and diseases of rice crop. Leaf silicon content, percent of white heads, percent of blast spots, and length of sheath blight spots and yield of hill were measured. With increasing of silicon using, percent of white heads, blast spots, sheath blight spots length related to check (without silicon using) were decreased13.8, 6.7 and 13.4 respectively. With increasing of nitrogen using, white heads and blast spots was significant. Paddy yield in treatment of 500 Kg/ha silicon fertilizer compared to check was more 14 percent. As a results, using of 500 Kg per hectare silicon fertilizer including with 92 kg N/ha caused improve 14 percent yield due to decreasing of 7-13 percent prevailing of pest and diseases of rice crop.
